The Right to be Wrong

The Right to be Wrong
by David Lawrence III

No, I can’t tell you the truth, because you’d lock me up or call me crazy. Not because I deserve it, but because it poses a risk to your position.

How dare you? Left or right, conservative or liberal, how dare you continue to lie to the public about the character of Almighty God?

The same God that condemns murder and prostitution has allowed it. Go figure. Unless and until both of you get honest we can’t go anywhere. The same God that has condemned murder and prostitution has allowed it. Let it sink in.

Sin causes death, and death is O.K. in limited doses under the prescription of the Great Doctor of mankind for the purposes of learning. That’s deep theology. Unless, and until you get it, you can’t possibly understand the meaninglessness of the so-called left or right, the reason for war, or the rightness of wrong. God gave us the right to be wrong for a reason. If God had valued security more than freedom He would have placed a barbed wire fence around the tree of Knowledge of Good and evil. Instead, He gave us the right to be wrong, a courtesy we rarely extend to one another. We cannot afford to avoid dealing with the essence of Genesis, and the inevitable outcome of Revelation - in secular, non-religious terms. Forget the born-again boneheads and the Islamic fundamentalists, and damn the torpedoes of the blind left and right– they are all so off-base it’s disgusting. It's academically dishonest, and unfair to the public.

Let’s try again. God gave us the right to be wrong. The same God that condemns murder has allowed it. Let it sink in…..how can it be?

If you have the courage and patience to walk through the argument and conclusion, I’ll take the time to finish this piece….do you care? hmmmm

Sincerely,

David Lawrence III
